Location Catering Across Cornwall, Devon & the South West

We are based in Redruth and fully self-contained — gas, charcoal, generators, water, waste management, refrigeration. No mains power or venue kitchen needed, so remote clifftops, moorland, woodland and beach shoots are all covered.

For shoots outside the immediate area we coordinate hot-boxed meal delivery or set up the mobile kitchen on location. Related services used by crews around shoot dates include corporate working lunches for pre-production meetings and charcoal BBQ catering for wrap parties once filming is done.

What meals do you provide on set?

Full hot breakfasts, multi-course lunches and dinners, mid-morning and afternoon snacks, plus all-day craft services — freshly brewed coffee, teas, cold drinks and a constantly restocked grazing station.

How is the food served on location?

We offer two options: individually hot-boxed meals delivered direct to set, or our fully-equipped mobile kitchen set up on location to cook and serve on-site. Craft services are maintained by our team throughout the day.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes. We provide delicious, clearly labelled options for all dietary requirements, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, and any specific allergies for cast and crew.

Do you work to production schedules?

Yes. Early call times, night shoots, last-minute changes — that is the job. We work to your schedule.

What is the minimum crew size you cater for?

There is no strict minimum. We have catered for small documentary crews of a handful of people through to full location units of 80+ cast and crew. Pricing scales with numbers and shoot length — get in touch and we will build a quote around what you actually need.

Can you cater unit base and second unit separately?

Yes. Where productions are split across unit base, main unit and second unit in different locations, we can coordinate hot-boxed meal delivery to each drop point to match your schedule. Talk us through your shoot plan and we will work out the logistics.

Are you insured for film and TV location work?

Yes. Salt Wind Catering carries £10 million public liability insurance and employer liability cover, holds a 5-star food hygiene rating from Cornwall Council, and is a member of NCASS. £10M PLI is a standard booking prerequisite on most UK and international productions — we send certificates, risk assessments and HSE documentation direct to your production manager or unit coordinator on request.

Can you work with international production accountants and payment terms?

Yes. We invoice in GBP, work with standard production payment terms, and are used to dealing with UK and international production accountants. Purchase orders, payment schedules tied to shoot blocks and consolidated invoicing are all fine.
