Delivered Hot Buffet — Warming Comfort Food, Straight to Your Venue

Not every event needs a chef on-site. Sometimes you just need hot food delivered, ready to set out, and people help themselves. Salt Wind Catering delivers hot buffet food across Cornwall — freshly made in our Redruth kitchen that morning and delivered in insulated trays ready to serve. No reheating needed, no kitchen required, no washing up.

What's on the Hot Buffet Menu

Our hot buffet range includes comfort food classics — mac and cheese, chilli con carne with rice, lasagne, chicken curry, beef stew, shepherd's pie, and seasonal specials. Each hot platter feeds approximately 8 to 10 people as part of a wider buffet spread. Everything is made from scratch using locally sourced ingredients — no pre-made, factory-produced food.

Our vegan and vegetarian options include vegetable curry with coconut rice, butternut squash mac and cheese, mushroom stroganoff, and seasonal vegetable tagine. These are popular with meat eaters too and always available alongside the main menu. Gluten-free options on request.

When Hot Buffet Works Best

Hot buffet delivery is ideal for events where you want substantial, warming food without on-site chefs. It works brilliantly for funeral wakes where families want comfort food without the stress of organising caterers on-site. Village hall events, birthday parties, christenings, and corporate events all suit hot buffet delivery. Our office lunch delivery service is particularly popular for business meetings and training days.

Building a Full Buffet Spread

Hot platters work best as part of a mixed buffet. Combine with our sandwich platters, savoury platters, sweet platters, and grazing platters for a complete meal without any kitchen work. A typical spread for 30 guests might include two hot platters, a sandwich platter, a savoury platter, and a sweet platter — giving everyone plenty of choice and enough food to go back for seconds.

Delivery & Pricing

We deliver across Cornwall seven days a week. Hot platters are delivered in insulated containers and stay at serving temperature for around two hours. We time delivery so the food arrives hot and ready at exactly the time you need it. Trays come with lids and serving spoons — you do not need to provide any equipment. We collect the trays afterwards at a time that suits you.

A full buffet spread typically works out at around £8 to £12 per head depending on options. For detailed pricing, see our 2026 catering cost guide. We hold a 5-star food hygiene rating and full NCASS accreditation.

Frequently Asked Questions — Hot Buffet Delivery

How long does the hot food stay warm after delivery?

Our hot platters stay at serving temperature for around two hours in their insulated containers. If your event runs longer, the food can be reheated in a standard oven.

Can I order just hot platters without cold food?

Yes. Many corporate clients order just two or three hot platters for a working lunch. For parties and social events we recommend mixing hot and cold options to give guests more variety.

What is the minimum order?

Each hot platter feeds 8 to 10 people. You can order a single platter if that suits your event, though we recommend a minimum of around 10 people for the buffet format to work well.

Do you deliver to Devon as well?

Yes. We deliver hot buffet platters to Devon including Plymouth, the South Hams, and Exeter. A travel supplement applies, quoted upfront.
