Forget table service. Forget queuing at a buffet table. Grazing stations and carts are how modern events are done — interactive, photogenic, and genuinely fun. At Salt Wind Catering, our grazing cart stations are one of the most popular things we do. Once you've seen a crowd around the donut dunking bar, you'll understand why.

Our Grazing Cart Collection

We've built a collection of interactive food stations that work for any event. The donut dunking bar lets guests dip warm donuts into melted chocolate, caramel, and flavoured glazes with a selection of toppings. The NYC bagel bar offers filled bagels with premium ingredients — smoked salmon and cream cheese, pastrami and mustard, avocado and chilli. Our Pimp Your Prosecco station lets guests build their own prosecco cocktails with fresh fruit, elderflower, syrups, and garnishes.

The Eton Mess dessert station brings a build-your-own dessert experience — smashed meringue, fresh strawberries, cream, and coulis. Each station is presented on our branded cart with full styling, creating a visual focal point as well as a food experience.

Why Grazing Stations Work

Traditional buffets have a fundamental problem — everything comes out at once, there's a queue, and within 20 minutes half the food is gone and the rest is going cold. Grazing stations solve this by spreading food across the event space and timeline. Guests interact with the food at their own pace, create their own combinations, and keep coming back.

The interactive element also creates natural conversation. People gather around stations, discuss their choices, photograph their creations, and share the experience. For corporate events and networking functions, this organic socialising is exactly what organisers want.

Events That Suit Grazing Stations

Grazing stations work at virtually any event. Weddings — the donut bar as evening food, the prosecco station during drinks reception. Birthday parties — the bagel bar and Eton Mess for a fun, informal spread. Corporate events — interactive stations that double as networking tools. Engagement parties, hen weekends, baby showers, graduation celebrations, and festival-style events all benefit from the visual impact and social format.

Combining Stations with Other Catering

Grazing stations work best alongside other catering rather than as the sole food option. A popular wedding combination is a hog roast wedding breakfast followed by donut dunking bar and Eton Mess station in the evening. For corporate events, pair stations with our delivered buffet platters for a complete spread that covers both substance and style.

We hold a 5-star food hygiene rating and full NCASS accreditation. All dietary requirements catered for. For pricing, see our 2026 catering cost guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many grazing stations can you set up at one event?

As many as you like. We can run a single station as an accent piece or set up four or five across a venue for a full grazing experience. Most weddings book two or three stations for the evening, while corporate events usually go for one or two alongside a buffet.

Are the grazing stations staffed?

Yes. Each station comes with a member of our team who sets up, manages the station throughout your event, and packs down afterwards. They keep everything topped up, presentable, and running smoothly. You don't need to do anything.

Can grazing stations work as the main food at an event?

For shorter events like drinks receptions, engagement parties, and afternoon celebrations they can work on their own. For full day events like weddings, we recommend combining stations with a main meal such as a hog roast or BBQ. The stations then work as evening food or a supplementary spread.

How much space do the carts need?

Each cart is compact and designed for indoor or outdoor use. They need roughly a two metre by one metre footprint including serving space. We can fit them into marquees, village halls, garden corners, and barn venues. We will check your venue layout when you book and advise on the best positioning.
