Christmas Party Catering in Cornwall — Festive Food Without the Stress

December hits and suddenly everyone needs feeding. The office Christmas party. The family get-together. The work lunch someone forgot to organise until the second week of December. Salt Wind Catering takes the food off your plate — literally. We cover Cornwall for everything from a 20-guest office buffet to a 200-guest corporate Christmas event.

What's on a Christmas Catering Spread?

Three formats cover the bulk of what we cook in December. The first is the Christmas hot fork lunch — proper roast turkey with all the trimmings, served hot at your venue or delivered ready to plate. Roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, stuffing, seasonal veg, gravy, cranberry, the lot.

The second is the festive buffet — sandwich platters with turkey and stuffing, savoury platters with mince pies and Christmas quiche, hot buffet platters, sweet platters, plus a Christmas sharing board for a centrepiece. It's mingle-friendly, photographs well, and works for office parties and family gatherings alike.

The third is the Christmas hog roast — slow-cooked whole pig over charcoal, carved in front of guests, served with stuffing, apple sauce and warm rolls. It's the centrepiece option for barn venues, marquees, outdoor Christmas markets and big family parties.

Guest Numbers and Portion Guidance

Our delivered buffet minimum is 20 portions, which covers most office Christmas lunches. For hot fork delivery, 25+ is the comfortable scale. Hog roast and on-site BBQ both kick in at the 50-guest minimum.

Plan around six to seven items per person for a grazing buffet, one full plate (turkey, three sides, gravy) for a hot fork, and two filled rolls per guest for a hog roast. December guests tend to eat more than they think — better to over-cater slightly.

Pricing Tiers for Christmas Catering

Festive sandwich and savoury platters start from around eight pounds per head. Hot fork Christmas lunches sit around fifteen to twenty pounds per head depending on extras. Hog roast lands at around twelve to fourteen pounds per head once you hit the 50-guest minimum. Full carvery-style turkey dinners with all the trimmings run higher. Our pricing guide has the full breakdown.

Office and Corporate Christmas Parties

Our corporate catering clients book us year after year for their Christmas do. We handle the food, you handle the Secret Santa and the lunchtime quiz. We can do breakfast catering for a morning kickoff and a festive buffet for the afternoon on the same booking. For 100+ guest corporate parties, the combination of a hog roast plus a giant pan paella works brilliantly — two stations, two cuisines, comfortable feeding for 200.

Logistics — December Specifics

For delivered buffets, everything arrives plated, covered and labelled, ready to set out. No prep required at the venue. For on-site cooks (hog roast, BBQ), we bring everything — grills, gazebo, charcoal, prep tables, hand-wash. The only thing December changes is the weather. Our cook gazebo handles rain and wind, but a sheltered patch helps. A 13-amp socket if available.

We don't supply waiting staff. Plates, cutlery and napkins are included unless your venue is providing crockery. Drinks are not something we do — most office parties run their own bar tab or a supermarket-bought drinks supply.

Book Early — December Fills Fast

We're not going to pretend we can squeeze everyone in. December is our busiest month and dates go quickly. Office Christmas Fridays are usually booked out by mid-October. If you're reading this and already know you need Christmas catering, get in touch now. Left it late? Try our next day buffet delivery — we'll do what we can.

We deliver Christmas catering across Cornwall, from Truro and Camborne to Bodmin and St Austell.

Christmas Catering FAQ

When should I book Christmas party catering?

September or October at the latest for December weekends and office Fridays. Booking in early autumn gives you the best chance of securing a specific date.

Do you offer traditional Christmas dinner catering?

Yes. Full turkey dinner with all the trimmings, delivered hot to your venue or served on-site. Roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, stuffing, seasonal vegetables and gravy all included.

Can you cater a Christmas party at a holiday cottage?

Yes. Holiday cottage Christmas parties are common. We deliver festive platters, buffets and even full Christmas dinners to cottages across Cornwall.

What's the smallest order you take for Christmas?

Our delivered buffet minimum is 20 portions. For smaller groups, we can scale platter quantities.

Do you cater vegetarian and vegan Christmas options?

Yes. Roasted vegetable wellington, nut roasts and vegan trimmings are standard, not afterthoughts.
