How it works

From your enquiry to the day of the event

Catering bookings have a few moving parts — here’s exactly what happens at each stage, so you know what to expect and when. Total time from enquiry to confirmed booking is usually under a week for smaller events, longer for weddings and large festivals.

  1. You send us your event details

Date, guest count, catering style, venue postcode and a couple of optional notes (event type, duration, access). Takes under 60 seconds via the quote form, or call 01209 206255 if you’d rather talk it through.

  2. We come back with a quote in 48 hours

Full menu options, per-head pricing, what’s included (cooks, kit, gas, setup, clear-down), travel supplement if any, and the deposit / balance breakdown. Clear number, no follow-up calls needed.

  3. You confirm with a 30% deposit

Pay by card via a Square invoice link, or BACS. Your date is held the moment the deposit clears. You’ll get a written confirmation with the agreed menu, headcount, address and timings.

  4. Menu selection + final headcount

We’ll firm up dietaries, allergies (including the honest disclosure on nut and gluten cross-contact) and final headcount in the lead-up. Changes within 7 days of the event are fine in either direction within reason.

  5. Balance due 7 days before the event

A second Square invoice goes out for the remaining 70% (or the adjusted total if headcount has moved). Corporate accounts on 30-day invoicing get a single invoice post-event.

  6. On the day — we turn up early, cook, serve, clear away

Cook team arrives in time to set up at the agreed start. We bring everything: gas, charcoal, kit, tables for serving, waste sacks. You don’t need to provide kitchen, power or water. After service we pack down and leave the area cleaner than we found it.

  7. Aftercare + VAT invoice

Final VAT invoice within 24 hours of the event. If anything didn’t land right we want to know — we read every reply and run a 5.0 average across 50 verified reviews because we actually care.

Two things worth knowing up front

  • · Allergens. Our kitchen handles nuts and gluten daily. For severe nut allergies or coeliac disease we cannot guarantee a trace-free environment — please tell us at enquiry stage so we can advise honestly.
  • · Coverage. We cover all of Cornwall and Devon from Redruth. A small travel supplement applies beyond 30 miles — always quoted up front, never surprises.
