We're proud to serve across Cornwall and into Devon, based in Redruth, covering events of all sizes.

Where we cater, and what travel costs

Salt Wind Catering works out of Redruth, right on the A30, which puts most of Cornwall inside an hour of our kitchen and keeps Devon well within reach.

We cook on site. Hog roasts, BBQs, our 70cm and 90cm paella pans, breakfasts, welfare feeds. These are cooked at your venue, in front of your guests, not driven to you. Distance doesn't affect the food. It affects the logistics, and we price that openly below rather than burying it in a quote.

Everything cold or pre-prepared, buffets, platters, hampers, holiday home deliveries, travels in temperature-controlled transport under our full food safety procedures, within the delivery area set out below.

Zones follow postcodes, because that's how we actually work a quote out. A few Cornish towns carry PL postcodes. They're still Cornwall, and still Zone 1.

Delivered food: Cold buffets and platters delivered here as normal. Plymouth is a 60-mile run and we do it routinely.

Travel below a threshold is £1 per mile round-trip from Redruth, worked out from your postcode, itemised on your quote, and never adjusted afterwards.

Why we publish this

Plenty of caterers list every town in the South West and work the travel cost into the quote where you can't see it. We'd rather you knew before you enquired. It means the figure we give you is the figure you pay, and it means we only take on work we can execute properly, which is how a 5-star record stays a 5-star record across 700+ events.

Callington

Sitting beneath Kit Hill on the eastern edge of Cornwall, Callington is well-placed for events drawing guests from both Cornwall and Plymouth.

Camborne

Just minutes from our Redruth kitchen, Camborne is one of the quickest areas we deliver to -- ideal for last-minute orders and same-day catering.

Falmouth

Falmouth's natural harbour, university campus, and castle grounds provide some of the most scenic event venues in Cornwall.

Fowey

Fowey's narrow streets and waterfront venues mean self-contained catering is often essential -- we bring everything we need with no venue kitchen required.

Hayle

Hayle's towans (sand dunes) and holiday parks along St Ives Bay generate strong demand for delivered party food and on-site BBQ catering during the summer.

Helston

Helston is the gateway to the Lizard peninsula, and we cover the entire area including Mullion, Coverack, and the surrounding villages.

Launceston

As the traditional gateway to Cornwall, Launceston draws guests from Devon and beyond. The castle grounds and surrounding countryside offer characterful event settings.

Liskeard

Liskeard's central position in southeast Cornwall makes it a convenient gathering point for events drawing guests from across the county and from Plymouth.

Looe

Looe's harbour-front restaurants and holiday cottages make it a popular destination. We deliver regularly to holiday lets and private events along the coast here.

Newquay

Newquay's tourism economy drives year-round demand for event catering, from summer beachside parties and surf competitions to Christmas functions at hotels and holiday parks.

Padstow

Padstow's reputation as a food destination means event guests often have high expectations -- our freshly prepared catering holds up well in this company.

Par & St Blazey

Par and St Blazey sit right next to the Eden Project, making the area popular for events tied to visits. We deliver to holiday parks and private venues throughout.

Penryn

Penryn's university campus at Tremough generates regular catering demand for graduation events, departmental functions, and student celebrations.

Penzance

Penzance's lido, promenade, and art scene attract a wide range of events. We're just 25 minutes away and deliver here regularly.

Perranporth

Perranporth's three-mile beach and holiday parks create steady demand for delivered buffets and BBQ catering throughout the summer season.

Plymouth

As the largest city in our delivery area, Plymouth generates demand for corporate lunches, naval and military events, and large-scale celebrations.

Redruth

Redruth is where we are based -- 37 Fore Street. Collection is available for local orders, and our delivery times here are the shortest anywhere.

Saltash

Saltash sits at the gateway to Cornwall, connected to Plymouth by Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge. Events here often draw guests from both sides of the Tamar.

St Agnes

St Agnes' dramatic Heritage Coast scenery, including the iconic Wheal Coates engine house, makes it a favoured spot for outdoor events and clifftop celebrations.

St Austell

St Austell's proximity to the Eden Project and its own brewery visitor centre means the area hosts a wide range of corporate and private events year-round.

St Ives

St Ives' narrow streets and limited parking make self-contained catering a practical choice -- we manage logistics so you can focus on your event.

Tavistock

Tavistock's position on the edge of Dartmoor National Park makes it a popular choice for rural weddings and outdoor events in dramatic moorland settings.

Torpoint

Torpoint sits across the Tamar from Plymouth, reached by the chain ferry, with HMS Raleigh and Antony House (National Trust) on the Rame peninsula.

Truro

As Cornwall's county town and administrative centre, Truro hosts the highest concentration of corporate events, council functions, and formal celebrations in the county.

Wadebridge

Wadebridge hosts the Royal Cornwall Show each June, and the Camel Trail running through town makes it a hub for outdoor events and cycling-related functions.
