Crew catering by the shoot day — call time to wrap
What a shoot day costs the unit
One rate, £30 +VAT per head, whatever the crew size. Here is what that comes to as a daily line and across a block.
| Crew on the day | One day | 5-day week | 21-day block |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 crew | £900 | £4,500 | £18,900 |
| 50 crew | £1,500 | £7,500 | £31,500 |
| 60 crew | £1,800 | £9,000 | £37,800 |
All +VAT, which productions reclaim. These are straight multiples for sizing a budget line, not minimums or a quote — we bill each day on the call sheet's actual headcount, so a 38-crew day is charged as 38 and a light day costs less.
- Prices are per head and quoted +VAT. Production catering is B2B and productions reclaim it, unlike the per-head prices elsewhere on this site, which include VAT.
- Based on a unit of around 50. Billed per day on the call sheet's actual headcount, never a flat average — a 38-crew day is charged as 38.
- Multi-day shoots are invoiced weekly, against each day's real count.
- Every dietary requirement is covered and clearly labelled, at no extra charge.
- Menus are seasonal and built per production. Send your call sheet and we price against it.
A sample shoot week
The question a block-booking UPM actually asks is whether the crew eats the same lunch for three weeks. They do not. Here is a sample week of hot lunch services — one cuisine per day, with a vegan main as an equal dish rather than an afterthought, every day. Breakfast, mid-morning craft, the afternoon break and the standby table run as listed above and do not change.

A sample, not a fixed cycle. Menus are seasonal and built per production around the crew and their dietary requirements once numbers are final — send your call sheet and we will build the week against it.
Send your call sheet and we will price against it — crew size, shoot dates and location are all we need. Same-day reply during office hours.
Dietary requirements
Send us the dietary list with your call sheet and we handle it end to end — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and specific allergies, tracked across the full unit and clearly labelled on the serving line. There is no surcharge for any of it. Full ingredient information is available on request for any individual crew member who needs it.
