Q: What areas do you cover for catering?

Salt Wind Catering is based in Redruth and covers all of Cornwall and most of Devon as standard — from Bude to the Lizard, and Plymouth across to Exeter, Torquay and beyond. We also travel further afield by arrangement, so get in touch if your venue is outside the usual patch.

Q: What is the minimum and maximum guest number you cater for?

We regularly cater for events between 30 and 500 guests. Smaller drop-off orders and larger events are possible too — tell us the numbers when you enquire and we will confirm what works best for your event.

Q: What are your deposit and payment terms?

For events more than 21 days away, a 30% deposit secures the date and the balance is due 7 days before. For events within 21 days, the full amount is payable on confirmation. We provide full VAT invoices on every order, and business accounts with monthly invoicing are available for regular corporate clients.

Q: What's included in your catering prices?

Our quotes include the food, preparation, delivery across Cornwall and Devon, and — for live-cooking services like hog roast, BBQ and giant pan — on-site cooking and service by our cook team. We do not provide front-of-house waiting staff, a licensed bar, alcohol service or tableware hire (hot and soft drinks can be included with your catering); our focus is on the food.

Q: Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes. All our menus can be adapted for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free diets — just let us know when you enquire and we will prepare clearly labelled options. Full allergen information is available on request for every dish.

Salt Wind Catering is a family-run event caterer based in Redruth, Cornwall. Since 2024 we've cooked for 602+ events across Cornwall and Devon — corporate days, film productions, weddings, welfare jobs and private parties — fully off-grid with our own cook team, kit and gas.

We cover all of Cornwall and most of Devon — Bude to the Lizard, Plymouth to Exeter. 5-star food hygiene rating from Cornwall Council, NCASS accredited, £10M public liability insurance.

Our 27 services run from breakfast baps at £4.45 per person and cold buffets at £7.95 to premium seafood platters and live charcoal cooking. Everything is made to order using local Cornish suppliers where possible. Whether it's a casual BBQ for 30 or a wedding for 300, we'll put together a menu and quote to fit — including location catering for film and TV productions.
