We cover all of Cornwall and Devon as standard. Travel is free on events over £500 to Plymouth and Tavistock, and over £1,500 for the rest of Devon; below that it is a flat £1 per mile round-trip from Redruth — always confirmed upfront.
Severe allergies: Our kitchen handles nuts and gluten daily — for severe nut, peanut, hazelnut allergies or coeliac disease we cannot guarantee a trace-free environment. Please tell us at enquiry stage so we can advise.

Is there any obligation when I request a quote?
None at all. Salt Wind Catering provides free, no-obligation quotes for all catering services. We'll send you menu suggestions and pricing tailored to your event.
How do I secure my date with Salt Wind Catering?
For events more than 21 days away, Salt Wind Catering takes a 30% deposit to secure your event date; for events within 21 days, the full amount is payable on confirmation. Once your deposit is received, your date is confirmed and reserved exclusively for you.
What information do I need to provide in my quote request?
The more detail you can give us, the more accurate your quote will be. Please include your event date, venue location, approximate number of guests, the type of catering you have in mind, and any dietary requirements or allergies in your party. If you are unsure about any of these, just give us your best estimate — we can always refine the quote as things firm up.
How much does catering cost per person?
Delivered buffets start from £7.95 per person, BBQ menus from £8.45 per person and hog roast packages from £9.15 per person. Every menu and price is published on our menu pages — no hidden extras, and your quote always shows the full amount.
Is there a minimum number of guests?
Delivered buffets start from 20 guests. On-site cooked menus such as BBQs and hog roasts are for 50 guests or more. Corporate orders have no minimum.
Do you cater weddings?
Yes — weddings are one of our specialities. Hog roasts, live-fire BBQs, giant-pan paella and delivered wedding buffets, served anywhere in Cornwall & Devon.
Do you provide serving staff?
Our menus are designed self-serve: we cook fresh on site (or deliver ready to eat), set everything up, and guests help themselves. No waiting staff means better food for your budget.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes — vegetarian options feature on every menu, and vegan and gluten-free choices are available. Tell us your requirements in the form and we'll build them into your quote; there is never a surcharge for dietary needs.
Do you take short-notice bookings?
Where the diary allows, yes — including next-day corporate buffet delivery and last-minute event cover. For anything urgent, call 01209 206255.

Yes. We cover all of Cornwall and Devon as standard. Travel is free on events over £500 to Plymouth and Tavistock, and over £1,500 for the rest of Devon. Below that it is a flat £1 per mile round-trip from Redruth, and it will always be confirmed clearly in your quote before you commit to anything.
